Look Inside: Portable GPS Mapping Systems

GPS technology is spreading into mobile phone devices rapidly and as such we are starting to see products introduced which are taking advantage of both technologies.

A product called Rave Wireless promises to keep students safe by allowing them to share their location and other information with college staff if they find themselves in danger or in an unsafe situation. Everything is done over the mobile phone.

The product allows the student to press a panic button if they get into trouble. This will automatically notify college staff of the students’ location. This product promises to be a popular one as more and more people feel less and less safe in our modern world.
