Magellan is another giant in the industry. They retail GPS and GIS equipment. Magellan’s products are aimed more at the professional admittedly, but if its the best you want, then that’s what you’ll get. And of course, with the more professional models comes greater accuracy and dependability.
Any GPS store or dealer should be able to direct you to exactly what you need. Check out the auctions too. Sometimes you can find real bargains in there being sold by people who don’t appreciate the true value of what they have.
Always buy a GPS model appropriate to your needs. If it is to be used on a boat or yacht, for example, then make sure it’s a watertight model. It may seem obvious to you, but it isn’t to some. And if you plan to use the unit where there is considerable vibration, then look for one that’s built strong and rugged, and can take a few knocks. It’s just commonsense really.
