The Garmin Rhino 110 handheld GPS navigator and 2-way radio is popular, there’s no denying that.

It has the futuristic looks of a mobile Star Trek communicator, and the versatility of a walkie talkie. This global positioning and navigation portable device is probably Garmin’s star exhibit.

As with most handhelds, this model fits easily into the pocket. It may look a bit like an oversized wasp with its black and yellow coloring, but the Rino 110 is as friendly as it gets. The GPS tracking is everything you would expect from Garmin. It uses a generous backlit 160 x 160 pixel display.

The interesting thing about having a two-way radio and a GPS in the same unit is that the Rino can transmit its location to others. If you are out with friends, all separated, and you each have a 110 handheld, then you will all be able to see each other’s location on the screen, knowing who is who. Pretty neat, huh?

This Garmin is not much bigger than a Palm, or other PDA, but it packs a lot more punch in many ways. Its versatility is amazing; there’s just so many ways to use it. In the world of portable global navigation positioning devices, this one is certainly worth a closer look!
